CNN Honors 9/11 Victims by Remastering Tower Impact Footage in HD

SEA TO SHINNING SEA, UNITED STATES – As the nation prepares to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks of 2001 cable and television news outlets are dusting off their old handheld camera footage of the attacks. Unfortunately for modern day viewers with 4k televisions and HD mobile phones the footage leaves a lot to be desired. CNN thinks they have the answer.

Ever since the last presidential election CNN has invested heavily in new news technologies, think Wolf Blitzer holograms and 3D charts. One technology is just coming of age and that’s upscaling old VHS quality footage to look as good as crystal clear modern HD!

“We can think of no better way to honor the fallen, the first responders and the families of the victims than by presenting the footage over and over and over again ad nauseam, like we have in previous years, with a new twist – high definition!” said Kody Calloway, vice president of animation and motion capture at CNN.

“We are working on the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination for next Presidents Day and, you’re the first to hear this by the way, a James Earl Ray hologram for MLK day!”  We think giving any visual attention, even negative attention, to anyone who seeks power through fear is a great way to make Americans think because we all know that Americans are not reactionary and thoughtfully take these images in with a sober mind and context to the events.”
