Meet the “Confederate Minion” – South Carolina’s Proud New Face of Heritage

confedminionSOUTH CAROLINA – South Carolina lawmakers eager to put their history of institutional racism behind them have hired a big shot marketing company from Mississippi to come up with a new flag to help drum up positive press, tourism and put a light hearted spin on the controversial stars and bars.

Branding manager Stryker Dyllon of Natchez, Mississippi based marketing company Rise Again said “We felt a title like ‘Despicable Me’ really spoke to the flag’s narrative over the years, going back to the 1960’s when it was raised in opposition to anti segregation laws. This new flag shows a lighter side to the bloody war over states rights. State’s rights…  to…  you know… own human beings.”

Dyllon says there will be a tourism campaign based on the new flag coming in the fall. Universal Pictures, makers of Despicable Me” did not respond to our request for a statement.
