Fanned by high winds and fueled by low humidity and dry vegetation, the fires spread rapidly Thursday and overnight into Friday.

Only a day after it began, the fire near the town of Paradise had grown to almost 110 square miles (285 square kilometers).
CAL Fire reports the fire is 8,000 acres at this time.
As of 5:30 a.m. ET, the fire was 0% contained. At least 75,000 homes in western Los Angeles and eastern Ventura County were evacuated.
