A Chicago man has been charged with a felony hate crime after a video that went viral showed him scolding a woman for wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with a Puerto Rican flag as a police officer watched the incident, authorities said on Friday.
The incident made national headlines this week after a video on social media showed Trybus approaching a woman, identified as Mia Irizarry, as she stood near a picnic grove in Caldwell Woods, a recreational area in the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, a green belt that surrounds Chicago.
She was in a gazebo she had reserved for a birthday party. She even stated that she felt highly uncomfortable as the man questions her citizenship and loyalty to the U.S., and tells her she "should not be wearing that in the United States of America".
General Superintendent Arnold Randall also stated, "We at the Forest Preserves of Cook County applaud the State's Attorney decision to file hate crime charges against Timothy Trybus".
He has since resigned from the force. When the new officers arrived, they arrested Trybus on charges of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Timothy G.Trybus repeatedly walked away and returned to heap more abuse on Mia Irizarry.
Irizarry says Puerto Rico is part of the United States and the man approaches her multiple times. "Are you a United States citizen?" he screamed, referring to the shirt as "un-American".
Gareth Southgate agrees with decision not to hold England parade
We saw it the other night against England , where Modric was still running the game late on and showing little signs of fatigue. That was just extra motivation for us. "The reality is that none of us know if that's as good as it gets", Southgate answered.
Our First Look at Paul Manafort in All His Inmate Glory

Holiday Fire: Evacuations reduced at wildfire in Goleta
The majority of the fire was burning in California, but part of the fire burned in timber-heavy, steep-sloped areas of Oregon. The Holiday fire in Goleta, California, north of Santa Barbara, grew rapidly overnight and is now at a size of 100 acres.
Irizarry posted the video of Trybus's racist rant and Officer Connor's lack of response on Facebook, where it attracted huge attention across the country and around the world. "Then you should not be wearing that". He gets closer to her and asks "Are you a citizen?"
Later she says: "Officer, I feel entirely uncomfortable, can you remove ... please officer" as the officer is seen walking away from her.
In the wake of the incident, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle offered the woman an apology and took the unusual step of calling Ricardo Rossello, the governor of Puerto Rico. We can not allow those who do not understand America's greatness to terrorize people due to their background.
Meanwhile, the Forest Preserves issued its own apology for what happened.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, police may add "hate crime" to those charges.
