Cyclone Mekunu hit Oman's Dhofar and Al Wusta provinces on Friday after intensifying from a category one to a category two cyclone, with winds of up to 170 kilometres per hour after it made landfall on Socotra on Thursday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said no Filipino has been reported dead or missing in Oman, following a powerful storm that triggered massive floods there. Shahriar said Bangladeshi officials would go to the affected areas once the airport in Salalah resumes operations.
Some roads were torn away while others were submerged, streetlights downed and roofs ripped off in Salalah.
A holiday destination, Salalah's empty beaches were strewn with debris and trash while churning waves inundated unprotected areas.
Five people, including a 12-year-old girl, died in Oman, and 40 others are missing from the Yemeni island of Socotra, which earlier took the storm's brunt, police said.
Yemen's fisheries minister Fahad Kafin said that of those missing, 14 were Indian sailors who were at the island's port when the cyclone struck.

On the outskirts of the city, near the Salalah International Airport, what once was a dry creek bed had become a raging river.
Governor of al-Mahra province, Rageh Bakrit said strong winds have blown down houses in the country's far east, along the border with Oman.
The moist air mass will also lead to thunder showers and winds, causing blowing sand and dust, especially over the southern parts of the country.
