In the tense moments before a jury convicted Bill Cosby of sexual assault, the prosecutor who had branded him a "con man" and called him out for laughing during closing arguments started to worry about the global implications if the #MeToo era's first big trial went the other way.

Harrison Snyder, in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" that aired Monday, said he believed Constand's claim that Cosby assaulted her in 2004 at his home in a Philadelphia suburb.

"This is what they wanted,"Cosby told Page Six after a Pennsylvania jury found him guilty Thursday of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand".

Though Snyder said he believed the five other Cosby accusers - including supermodel and reality TV staple Janice Dickinson - to testify at the trial, he added that their accounts did not factor into his decision. "Not when they want me to say that I'm a sex offender". Snyder, who said the case against Cosby was not open and shut, said he was unaware of #MeToo.

He revealed that some agree Cosby is guilty, but others have told them they are still convinced he is innocent.

"I really didn't know a lot (about Cosby)".

The investigation into Cosby was reopened in July 2015 after a federal judge, acting on a request from The Associated Press, unsealed portions of Cosby's deposition testimony from the civil suit he settled with Constand.

"Certainly, the prosecution put up vigorous case ... but I thought the defense did a significant job of discrediting Andrea Constand giving the jury an indication that there was a number of lies she told over a period of time", Jackson said.

But Snyder said testimony from the other women did not push the decision over the top.

"I think back to the time when Camille and I went to visit Nelson Mandela in South Africa".

The Friday decision in Cosby's retrial comes after his initial trial in June 2017, which resulted in a mistrial because of two not guilty holdouts by the jury.

"After thoughtful and meticulous consideration of the information and evidence provided to us, we came to our unanimous verdict", the jury said, according to the AP.

He meant a prison cell, which might become his home for the rest of his life if a judge sentences him to a maximum of 30 years.

He said the #MeToo movement wasn't a factor in his decision.

Juror Harrison Snyder, in an interview on ABC's Good Morning America, said he doesn't keep up with the news and hadn't heard of the hashtag later adopted by victims to share stories of sexual abuse and assault, following news stories about Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's predatory behavior a year ago.
