Marvel Studios will release the next Avengers film ("Avengers 4", for now) in May 2019, expected to pick up after the events of "Infinity War". Not only does Avengers: Infinity War presume that viewers have seen all the preceding films in the Marvel series but, worse, it presumes that they've thought about them afterward. Incredibly, "Infinity War" sprinted to first place without the enormous markets of China or Russian Federation, where it will open in the next two weeks.
And the Marvel superhero romp has yet to open in China, the world's second-largest movie market.

D'Amico also volunteered with the nonprofit Tennis Canada association, working at the Rogers Cup tournament since the age of 12. Work is now being done to positively identify all of the victims in the attack, but that could take some time it turns out.
Infinity War has three weeks to dominate the Box Office because the only competition it faces is Deadpool 2 which is not out until May 18th, 2018. Globally, "Infinity War" hit a whopping $630 million, smashing the previous global opening weekend record of $541.9 million held by "The Fate Of The Furious". "Fate" still holds the record for global (worldwide total minus US domestic) with $443.2.
After Force Awakens, the biggest North American openings belong to Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220 million) and Jurassic World ($208.8 million).
Disney is being more cautious and suggesting a domestic launch in the $225 million-$240 million range. It is one of only six films to have ever achieved more than $200m during their opening weekend.
Despite a cliffhanger ending, word of mouth still seems to be very positive for Infinity War. The question now is whether it can pass TFA's total numbers and/or become the first movie ever to pass $1 billion in the domestic box office alone. Fourth place went to Rampage, which earned $7 million. But it has been a phenomenal openening for the superhero film which grossed $200 million at the worldwide box office.
