Comcast was reported to have made a $64 billion offer for Fox assets last November, but Fox accepted the lower bid from Disney, arguing in filings that regulation would be a potential barrier to any deal with Comcast. For several months now, it's been all but accepted that The Walt Disney Company will acquire various assets from 21st Century Fox. Fox has already turned down Comcast's bid over antitrust concerns amid the trial.
In a move that could topple Disney out of the running, United States cable operator Comcast has reportedly held talks with American banks to secure around $60bn in financing for a hostile bid for 21st Century Fox Inc.'s entertainment and global assets, according to Reuters.
Via CNBC, Comcast is attempting to secure financing for a $60 billion dollar cash bid for the Fox assets, which could potentially displace Disney's bid. He added that if Comcast acquires Fox, it might lead to Comcast spinning off its cable/internet and entertainment businesses into separate companies.
Disney and Fox last month laid out the rationale and backstory of the deal in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, which included details of Fox's discussions with Comcast prior to setting the Disney agreement on December 14.

The Fox-Sky deal has been held up by concerns about the influence Murdoch could wield over public opinion through owning all of the broadcaster as well as British newspapers The Times and The Sun. The outcome of the case, which is expected to be announced in June, will determine whether or not Comcast makes the bid. In doing so, it topped an earlier offer for the entirety of Sky by Fox.
Disney shares fell 1 percent in morning trade in NY, while Comcast's dipped 3.5 percent to $31.25.
Comcast Corporation shares were unchanged in premarket trading Tuesday.
