The unified front was presented during a highly anticipated meeting between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence on the sidelines of the Summit of the Americas in Peru's capital.
At the same time, he warned that the US was prepared to "sustain this effort if necessary", though he expressed hopes that the combination of strikes and condemnation from countries like Canada would see Syria abandon such weapons.
This was Pence's first media interaction after U.S. forces launched precision strikes against Assad regime targets associated with the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
Axios reported Sunday that Trump was upset when he learned Pence was hiring Jon Lerner to advise him on national security and foreign policy.
Pence's team finally got wind of the controversy and after his plane landed, the vice president called Trump to plead Lerner's case.
