Starting today, Gmail will bother you with mobile notifications only when it thinks that an email is important. To help speed up email composition, Gmail on the web gains a feature from the mobile apps - Smart Replies. The enhancements are outlined at making Gmail easier to use, as Google hopes to take a bigger part of the email fragment far from Microsoft's Outlook.
To activate the new design, click on the gear in the top right corner of the screen and choose the option "Try the new Gmail interface", according to the official Google blog. Notwithstanding, the choice wasn't accessible for us right now, so the take-off is by all accounts slower than anticipated. Furthermore, you can select a message to expire after a set period of time. There is also an iOS app, but the App Store listing is not yet live as of publishing. Email can be sent with an expiration date (kind of like a Snapchat message), and there are more options for revoking messages after they're sent. "Confidential Mode" will, for starters, prevent recipients from sharing the email's content.
Google has also transformed Tasks which was a to-do list tool that has been hidden in Gmail since 2008.
Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat told analysts that half of the spending resulted from hardware purchases to support expanding use of machine learning, which describes automated programs that can, among other things, identify spam and predict which emails users would find most important. Once turned on for a specific message, the user won't be able to copy, download, forward, or even print it.
The nudging feature is also a reminder mechanism, except it displays the reminder in text next to the email if you haven't responded to it in a few days.

"High-priority notifications is a new setting that only notifies you of important messages, keeping interruptions to a minimum". Another good addition to the web version is the capability of tapping directly into the email attachments from the inbox without opening the conversation.
Confidential mode sets an expiry date for the sent email after which the receiver could not see it. It's also much easier to access attachments without having to open an email. Similarly, it may ask if you want to follow up on a message you've sent that hasn't elicited a response. A prompt with shortcuts to unsubscribe or refuse will be displayed on top of the inbox on the mobile interface.
These are enormously helpful, enabling you to drag emails straight into other apps, and manage your appointments without leaving your inbox. Google has also incorporated AI chops to scan your emails to detect which are to be tended to on priority.
If you are more like me and don't really care about how messy your inbox is, then the new "nudging" feature will come in handy.
