The ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z are similar phones that use the exact same body, and what a body it is. Alongside these ZenFone 5 lineup smartphones, Asus at yesterday's event also unveiled a lower end version of the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) which was launched only last December aka ZenFone Max (M1).
The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch Full HD+ (2160x1080p) display with 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. There has been no mention of the price, though ASUS has confirmed a March launch for the Zenfone 5 and a Jue launch for the Zenfone 5Z.
The design is slick and trendy, but that's no surprise - it's twinning with Apple's gorgeous iPhone X. We don't know how much the ZenFone 5 is supposed to cost either when it goes on sale in April, but the ZenFone 5Z is coming in June, fetching a very reasonable 479 Euro, presumably in an entry-level 4GB RAM/64GB ROM configuration. The high-end variant sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform and the other variant sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform. Pricing and availability of the smartphones haven't been revealed as yet. However, in an earlier interaction, the company had said that it will bring both these phones to the Indian market soon, though it did not confirm a timeline.
The first thing you will realize as soon as you pick up the Zenfone 5 is that it's an unapologetic ripoff of Apple's iPhone X right from the rounded corners to the notch to the camera placements. The 5 will also sport standard and wide-angle dual rear cameras, and ASUS' ZenUI 5.0 with Android O. The secondary sensor includes an 8-megapixel sensor coupled with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The front camera is another 8-megapixel, 83-degree field of view lens. With the use of Facial Recognition technology, you can unlock the device using the sensors located beside the front facing camera. Talking about the cameras, there are total four camera sensors on this device.
The ZenFone 5Z and the ZenFone 5 also comes with dual-pixel phase detection autofocus that helps it gain a lock on the focus in just 0.03 seconds, this paired with the 4-axis optical image stabilization helps record some of the best video clips even when zoomed in.

Asus ZenFone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB Internal storage.
Storage options on the Zenfone 5 include two RAM variants, 4GB and 6GB.
Credit: Tom's GuideThe device looks like Apple's most expensive iPhone, complete with a notch to house the front-facing camera lens, but for half the price. A new ZenUI based on Android Oreo also comes pre-installed. The ZenFone 5 Lite will be available in Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Rouge Red colour variants.
Externally, the suffix-less Zenfone 5 is identical to its faster cousin. It uses a totally different design than the 5 and 5Z but still opts for a 6-inch Full HD+ 18:9 screen with minimal bezels. As of yet there is no clear information on which model will hit the Indian shores. Asus claims that the device offers up to 26 hours on standby time, 26 hours of 3G talk time, up to 21 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi, and up to 13 hours of video playback.
Powered by a 3300mAh battery, the 4G VoLTE device sports a rear fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock feature.
