There had to be at least a few whoops of delight emanating from Palo Alto on Sunday night as hometown hero James Franco captured a Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a motion picture, comedy or musical.
On the other hand, The Disaster Artist - James Franco's well-received making-of film about The Room - was indeed nominated for Golden Globes for both Best Picture (musical or comedy) and Best Actor for Franco's performance- an award for which Franco won the Golden Globe. And, Franco made sure not to exit the stage without creating a viral moment.
