Michael Wolff's controversial book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" is a No. 1 New York Times bestseller.

Endeavor Content, the financing and sales arm of talent agency William Morris Endeavor and IMG, announced Wednesday that it had acquired the television rights to Fire and Fury in a deal that is said to be in the seven-figure range.

Wolff will helm the production as executive producer while former BBC director of television Michael Jackson, now chief executive of Two Cities Television, will also produce, an Endeavour spokeswoman said.

Wolff and former White House adviser and book source Steve Bannon came under fire by Trump upon the book's release.

Excerpts of Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House were first published online by NY magazine and other media outlets before it was published on January 9.

True enough, Trump's repeated attempts to condemn the book and its author have just created interest around it. Fire and Fury publisher Henry Holt moved the publication date of the book from the January 9 to January 5 after the White House tried to intervene.

Wolff's book has sparked huge controversy since excerpts began to emerge earlier this month.

Though Wolff has publicly acknowledged that he can not be sure if portions of it are true, the book has nonetheless dominated The New York Times best-seller list for two consecutive weeks, prompted a weeks-long waiting list at Amazon, and is reportedly being shopped as a TV series.

The searing expose into the first year of Donald Trump's presidency made headlines around the world with many of its revelations.

The book's portrayal of a chaotic West Wing quickly drew the ire of Trump; one of his lawyers tried to halt the book's publication with a cease-and-desist letter.

The White House has roundly condemned the book.

Some of Trump's senior-most staff believed that Hicks, one of Trump's longest-serving aides who has acted as a gatekeeper for his interview requests, had authorized their cooperation with Wolff. Wolff on Saturday claimed that the book had raised questions about Trump's ineptitude at handling the administration and may as well bring about his downfall.
