Trebek was admitted to LA's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on December 15 after experiencing complications from hitting his head in a fall in October.

He explained that he suffered the subdural hematoma, or blood clots on the brain after the injury about two months ago.

He continued saying that two days after surgery, he was able to return home and his "prognosis is excellent".

He added: "And I want to thank all of you for your concern".

Tapings of "Jeopardy!" have been put on hold while host Alex Trebek recuperates from surgery.

Trebek has been hosting the popular game show since 1984.

Jeopardy! debuted as a daytime show in 1964, and ran until 1975.

Producers told Variety that because "Jeopardy!" has a long lead time in taping, the only change to the show's on-air schedule would be shifting its College Championship episodes from March to April.

Trebek has had a history of health scares. Although there have been occasional postponements in the show's taping, Trebek has hosted Jeopardy! for 33 years and is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.
